Hello everyone! As you can see from the title, the IRC is now live and you can go ahead and join it and use it. IRC, if you don’t know, stands for Internet Relay Chat, and it’s almost like any other chat you have ever used before. If you already know how to use it and join servers/channels
then go ahead and join using this:
Channel names: #NeocoreGames and #IAVanHelsing
Our IRC Chat is a great place to talk about the game, and
Neocore in general, and as well, talk with other fans and get tips and hints in
real time. There are even going to be possibilities for Moderator/Developer
If you just want to join quickly and ask a question or so
then start here, on step 1A, if you want to find out how to download mIRC (an
IRC client) and want to join and talk more than once, then scroll down and
start from step 1B!
How to quickly join the IRC Chat:
(ALL OS's CAN BE USED)
Step 1A. Type http://client00.chat.mibbit.com/ (Or click link) into your web browser.
Step 2A. DO NOT change the default server, we are on the
Step 3A. Type in a Nick name into the box, It will tell you to change it to something else if it is taken upon connection.
Step 4A. Type in the channel name(s) in the channel box. Either #IAVanhelsing or #NeocoreGames or both by typing:
Step 5A. Push Connect!
How To Register Your Nick and Sign in with Registered Nick
Step 1AA. Once Logged into the server type “/nickserv register
ex: /nickserv register VanHelsing flower123 firstname.lastname@example.org
Step 2AA. Afteryou have done that you will receive an email with a confirmation code to enter
into the chat it will look something like: /msg NickServ confirm iOVI3FNrG copy and paste that from your emailinto the chat box and your nick is registered
Step 3AA. To Log in with the registered nick it is the same as above but with an extra step. Click on the "Auth" word which is located above the password section next to the words, "Server" and "Charset", select NickServ from the drop down and enter your password.
**NOTE**: If you like and want to keep using the way above, instead of download mIRC, then you can, but it is recommended that you register on the site (mibbit.com) first.
How to download and Set-Up mIRC:
Step 1B: First of all you are going to have to download mIRC
(completely free) so go ahead and go to: http://www.mirc.com/
From there, you will be able to download the most recent version
of mIRC by pressing the second green button saying “Download mIRC”.
Step 2B: It will redirect you to a page, and you will have
to press Download again and one more time it’ll redirect you to CNet and you
will have to once again, press “Download Now”
Step 3B: Once you download the .exe file, you should press
A window will pop up asking to run it or to cancel; just
press Run (or Open).
Step 4B: Once you download and install mIRC, double click on
the file to open it.
Step 5B: It will open up a box, which will give you a field
to enter your Full Name and E-Mail Address. (If it doesn’t then press settings
((the little hammer and switch sign)).
Go to connect, which
you will see on the left side of the settings box (you are probably already
there). Next it gives you field for your Nickname and Alternative Nickname. The
Nickname will be by what everyone sees you and identifies you. Type in a
Nickname and an Alternative Nickname. **Note: Alternative Nickname is optional,
but recommended**. Under that, enter your name in the “Name” field, and your
E-Mail (E-Mail is optional but recommended. Unnecessary emails will not be
Step 6B: After you enter your information, click on the
little plus sign next to connect, to expand the Connect category. Under Connect
you will see ‘Servers’. Click on that, then click ADD. A box will pop up to
input the server details.
Step 7B: It will ask you for a description (put anything you
want). Under, there will be a section for IRC Server. This is where the
important part comes in. For IRC Server, put “irc.uk.mibbit.net” (without the
quotes). After that, you’ll just need to press: “Add”.
Step 8B: Finally, after you press “Add”, there will appear
to be a list of servers and what you just entered should be highlighted (if it
isn’t, scroll until you find the server under the description you put it as.
Press on the server and then, on the right of the server list, press the “Select”
button. A window will pop up once more with your nickname and the rest of the
information you entered.
Step 9B: Press the “Connect” button
Step 10B: A little box will open up saying “Enter a channel
name and click join:” Ignore that box and close it.
Step 11B: There will be a main window open saying a bunch of
stuff in it:
Step 12B: In the bottom bar where you can type, type in:
Or type: /join #NeocoreGames
(Type either one depending on whether you want to go to the
main Neocore Games chat or the Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing chat).
Once you will join, you will have a short amount of time
until you will have to register your nickname.
To register just type this:
/nickserv register EnterAPasswordHere EnterYourEmailHere
Enter a password you can remember and a valid email. After you have done that you will receive an email with a confirmation code to enter into the chat it will look something
/msg NickServ confirm iOVI3FNrG
copy and paste that from your email into the chat box and your nickname will now be registered.
Everytime you close and open your mIRC and enter a/the
channel(s), you will have to type:
/msg nickserv identify EnterThePasswordYouProvided
If your nickname automatically changed before you got to use
the above command, you will have to type:
/msg nickserv identify EntherThePasswordYouProvided
